Scope of Work
DSP Electrical Contractors provided all site electrical infrastructure for the 9/11 Memorial Park, including underground power distribution, architectural lighting, and low-voltage systems. Lighting was carefully coordinated to illuminate memorial artifacts respectfully and effectively.
Detailed Scope of Work
- Provided all new 480/ 277v 100 amp metered exterior site pedestal and repaired the existing utility feed from the power company transformer.
- Provided, installed and wired (1) 75kVA, 480v to 208/120v NEMA 3R stepdown transformer to feed a 200 amp, 208/120v NEMA 3R panelboard.
- Provided all luminaires, underground conduit and wire for in grade, column, pathway bollard and pole mounted luminaires.
- Provided underground conduit and concrete pull boxes for the low voltage camera system and tied the conduit into the existing fire station MDF cabinet.
- Lighting controls feature a 365-day astronomical time clock, lighting contactors and a photocell.
Project Highlights
- 70 total luminaires installed ranging from in grade, bollard, column, and pole mounted.
- Main meter pedestal in 480/277v, 100 amp
- This system has 480/277v and 208/120v, via step down transformer and a 200 amp 208/120v panel board.
- Construction duration was 10 months with the job being placed on hold due to weather, utility re-design, and placement of the 911 artifacts. The project hit its grand opening target date of 9/11/2025.
Challenges & Solutions
The project experienced delays due to weather, utility redesigns, and coordinated with other trades. DSP adapted schedules and maintained coordination to meet the memorial opening date.
